About the role:

As a Engineering Manager, Simulator Solutions Engineering you will be accountable as the technical manager for 20-25 direct reporting simulation architect and simulation operations personnel observing Westinghouse Operational Model, and organizational scaling to support business needs. You will be accountable for the operations of the Simulator Solutions engineering team and Simulation Test labs to ensure standards of quality (including effective management of the corrective action program), cost (including use of resources to meet assigned targets), safety (both ensuring a NSC as well as personnel and Industrial safety), reliability and performance are met in engineering processes.

You will report to Director Adv. Operations & Controls Engineering, and the and be located at Westinghouse's Cranberry, PA office. You will be hybrid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Simulator System Engineering Leadership team and accountable for technical leader development activities. Prepare and implement training and development plans with emphasis on long-term resource needs. Focus on developing engineering skills to guarantee an added value to the customer. This includes providing feedback, evaluation for merit and promotion as well as addressing performance issues.
  • Lead innovation of solutions to create customer value in collaboration with appropriate Westinghouse organizations. Identify unmet customer needs through appropriate market channels especially direct customer interaction.
  • Drive technology continuous improvement and standardization considering “breakthrough” technologies and cost improvement goals.
  • Oversee and successfully implement product development projects.
  • Lead Simulator Solutions hiring strategy to ensure adequate resources for each project need supporting the full lifecycle.
  • Identify, justify & commit on the as-sold version of allocated hours required to perform engineering scope of work
  • Lead the team with a strategic focus, communicate vision for future and promote culture that aligns with organizational goals. Develop culture that values a safety conscious work environment, technical excellence, personalized customer service and human performance fundamentals.
  • Lead cost efficient product or service delivery which meets or exceeds business plan objectives
  • Responsible for group financial performance (including planning and forecast). This would include items like resource productivities, capital & facility management, development and test equipment and group cost centers / spending oversight.
  • Oversee New Plant (AP1000, AP300) simulator planning to account for resource needs, costs, schedule integration and product development to meet stakeholder needs
  • Ensure understanding of the Emerson Ovation products and road map to plan and execute required product development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of leadership with Simulation and I&C experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in I&C systems, specifically in NSSS, Feed Water and other nuclear plant systems.
  • Experience in I&C Platforms (i.e. ABB, Siemens, Emerson).
  • Comprehensive engineering knowledge to lead through complex and difficult technical challenges.
  • Skills in estimating, planning and executing complex projects.
  • Business acumen, including consideration of financial impact when making decisions.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,00 per year.
