About the role:
As a manager - BWR Engineering you will be accountable for the successful operations of the group in its primary accountability for assuring of the safe operation of global BWR nuclear operating plants that use Westinghouse fuel, technology, and engineering services as a part of the operation of their nuclear power plant.
You will report to the Director - US BWR Engineering. This is a hybrid role located in Cranberry, PA.
Key Responsibilities:

The group consists of Nuclear Design, Thermal-Hydraulic Design, and Fuel Rod Design engineers responsible for performing analyses to support BWR fuel transitions, reloads, and plant operational changes. The team also supports development work for new technologies including fuel and components, codes and methods, and process improvements which help guide Nuclear Fuel strategy and goals to meet customer and market needs. Supplemental effort also includes supporting commercial offers with technical expertise.

The group performs emergent issue resolution activities to support emergent issues at our customer's Global Nuclear Operating Plants and with the Fuel Manufacturing at our Westinghouse fuel manufacturing facilities. This requires understanding and being able to implement assistance on a 24/7 need basis and understanding how to apply fitness for duty requirements.

Manage a team of diverse engineers, including task planning and prioritization, to provide leadership in an environment focused on growth within the USBWR market.

Take sponsor responsibility for the planning, execution, and success of standard and non-standard projects.

Manager will focus on the following goals:

Maintain a Nuclear Safe Working Environment

Predict and monitor the required skills and headcount to deliver upon business demand, 3) Manage the group's costs to goals

Work with USBWR Director for the successful requirements of our needs placed upon the USBWR department

Work with HR and HR processes to oversee the people management goals of the group and with the group's personnel
-
Work and meet with and develop main customer relationships with internal customers, industry partners, and utility engineering personnel and management personnel to maintain understanding the customer needs and expectations for proper direction of work.

Support occasional travel to customer sites, industry conferences and meetings, and global Westinghouse locations.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline required.

Minimum 6 years of strong and progressively more responsible leadership experience required.

Experience managing engineering teams.
-
Experience with negotiations, persuasion, and people development skills is necessary .

Engage customers to promote group products and services.

Experience with high technology products and systems.

Gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make decisions.
-
Excellent team building skills with the ability to engage with all partners.

Comfortable working in ambiguous and first-of-a-kind (or first-in-a-while) environments requiring strategic planning.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,000 per year.
