About the role:
As a Senior Manager – Windows & Platform Services, you will lead the strategy, delivery, and operational oversight of enterprise platform services, including virtualization, Windows, storage, and backup.
This role ensures alignment across strategy, engineering, and operations, driving both operational excellence and strategic outcomes. You will shape Westinghouse's core infrastructure through modernization, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement, enabling a resilient, scalable, and future-ready platform environment.
You will report to the Vice President of Infrastructure and Operations, and be located at Cranberry Township, PA. This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite, 2 remote).
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy, Architecture, and Governance (Plan)

Partner with the Enterprise Architecture team to implement the platform strategy and multi-year roadmap across virtualization, Windows, storage, and backup.

Promote modernization, lifecycle management, and technical debt reduction.

Partner with Architecture and IT leadership to evaluate latest technologies and strategic investments.

Enhance governance models for platform services, including standards, policies, and best practices.

Embed security and compliance requirements into platform strategy, aligning with Zero Trust and secure-by-design principles.

Provide strategic input to investment planning, ensuring understanding between roadmap, lifecycle needs, and our priorities.
Engineering, Standardization, and Platform Enablement (Build)

Lead delivery of platform solutions aligning to business and IT requirements and priorities, ensuring scalability, resiliency, maintainability and understanding of architectural standards

Establish and enforce standardized build, deployment, and configuration practices, including infrastructure-as-code and policy-driven automation.

Increase adoption of automation-first practices, reducing manual effort and increasing consistency and speed.

Introduce and mature modern engineering capabilities such as infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automated provisioning and configuration, and standardized platform patterns

Design platforms for scalability, resilience, operational efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
Operations, Reliability, and Continuous Improvement (Run)

Provide leadership over daily platform operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and stability.

Ensure platforms meet availability, performance, and capacity targets, minimizing disruption to business operations.

Establish enterprise observability capabilities, including metrics, logging, and tracing to provide real-time visibility into platform health.

Implement data-driven operational models, using dashboards and reporting.

Identify and address operational gaps and process inefficiencies, leading improvement plans.

Ensure adherence to ITIL-aligned processes, including incident, problem, and change management.

Maintain compliance with audit, security, and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Talent Development

Lead and develop teams across the Platform Services team, with direct reports including area supervisors and leads.

Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and progress.

Align organizational structure and capabilities to support modern platform engineering and operations.

Manage and maintain financial governance including both operational and capital planning and forecasting.

Establish reporting frameworks that provide transparency into platform health and outcomes.

Use metrics to lead accountability, prioritization, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
-
BS in Information Systems or similar degree or equivalent experience
-
5+ Years of IT experience and background in IT, with 4+ years in lead/managerial roles (likely 10+ years)
-
Lead work/project teams, including indirect reporting lines. Understanding of operations.

An understanding of IT infrastructure principals, capabilities, and architecture.

Familiar with IT compliance controls.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $144,000 to $180,000 per year.
