This position is a hybrid opportunity requiring 2 days/week working on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters faciltiy located in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Pittsburgh area.  This position does not offer relocation assistance.  We are able to entertain candidates not requiring sponsorship now or in the future, as we are unable to sponsor Visas.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Perform thermal-hydraulic and piping networks engineering design and analysis for mega-projects or advanced reactors.
  • Develop pump, valve, heat exchanger, HVAC, or other equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications.
  • Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks that are assigned
  • Support more senior engineering personnel in various design and analysis efforts
  • Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management
  • Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations project teams with internal and/or external representation
  • Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings as needed to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements

 

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear preferred)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA 
  • Experience with MathCad, MATLAB, or VBA
  • Familiarity with testing and testing analysis
  • Familiarity with the nuclear power plant designs for operating PWR and BWRs or advanced reactors or AP1000.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software Suite
  • Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer License is preferable
  • Ability to travel to Westinghouse or Customer site 20-50%
