Mechanical Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role:

As a Mechanical Engineer you will be part of our Materials and Aging Management Team reporting to the Manager of Materials & Aging Management working hybrid based in Cranberry Woods, PA. We can entertain candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Finite element analyses (FEA) to develop inspection acceptance criteria for nuclear power plant components like bolting patterns and flaw acceptance criteria for components impacted by material degradation mechanisms.

• Calculations for and apply ASME Code to design and analysis of reactor vessel internals components using FEA and other engineering tools.

• Qualify replacement reactor internals components for plant operation (e.g., structural evaluations including stress and fatigue)

• Evaluate degradation observed in plant components to permit continued operation

• Resolve plant outage issues through qualitative and quantitative engineering evaluations

• Support larger generic projects that are developing the industry guidance and requirements for safe long-term operation of nuclear power plant reactor vessel internals components

• ANSYS (Workbench, APDL)

• Materials science

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other related engineering discipline
