We are looking for a Nuclear Core Design Lead Engineer  with in-depth knowledge and experience in nuclear reactor physics methods, analysis, and design to join our Innovation Nuclear Technology Division.  The successful candidate will be part of the technology innovation team responsible for development of advanced core analysis methodology for advanced reactors, including space applications.  This is a US ONLY Remote or Mobile role.

 

Your day to day :

  • Develop new technology products and services for new reactor designs
  • Develop neutronic models, methods, and codes for innovative new reactor designs and fuel products, including UN and TRISO fuel
  • Applying neutronic codes and methods for existing and new fuel concepts
  • Explore and apply new technologies such as high-performance computing, machine learning, and other techniques to develop next generation codes and methods
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team developing of multi-physics code system and analysis methods
  • Support eVinci and Space Nuclear fuel product development efforts
  • Support regulatory reviews and approvals of technical products and services
  • Collaborate with universities, national laboratories and other external partners on fuel-related research and development

 

Who You Are:

  • M.S. or PhD in nuclear engineering degree
  • 5+ years in nuclear reactor physics research, development, design or analysis
  • Knowledge and experience in space applications is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with neutronic codes (such as MCNP, Serpent, VERA, CMS, ANC, etc.),  strong MCNP knowledge is preferred
  • Proficiency in code and software development and engineering applications.  Knowledge and experiences in high-performance computing and parallel programming preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities and skills
