Your Day-to-Day:

Join the Reactor Technology and Methods team in support of the development and refinement of analysis and monitoring methods supporting new and existing PWR and VVER reactor designs.

  • Develop and deploy methods and software tools in support of nuclear reactor design, modeling, and analysis. 
  • Support licensing activities and implementation of advanced methods to enable growth of Nuclear Fuel business on critical initiatives such as high energy fuel, VVER market expansion, radioisotope production in LWRs, and next generation reactor technology (AP1000, AP300, etc.)
  • Lead efforts to improve existing analysis methods and enhance computational performance, identify uncertainties in nuclear methods and develop validation approaches to address them.
  • Interface with customers and multi-functional project teams. May act as a subject matter expert and customer point of contact for specific engineering disciplines including nuclear methods, core monitoring, predictive improvements, and nuclear design software.
  • Perform engineering design and analysis and propose solutions to complex problems.
  • Identify, define, and direct approach for successful resolution of significant technical nuclear design issues.

 

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience working effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience interfacing with customers.

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in nuclear engineering or related field
  • Strong technical foundation in methods pertaining to neutronics, reactor physics, and core analysis
  • Experience with BEACON Core Monitoring System and/or the Westinghouse nuclear code suite (APA and NEXUS code system).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues (e.g., fix-it-now (FIN) team)
  • Experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing engineers, and providing feedback/coaching
