Principal Engineer - Azure & M365

About the role:

As a Principal Cloud Engineer - Azure & M365, you will help ensure the reliability, security, and operational excellence of both the enterprise Microsoft 365 tenant and associated Microsoft Azure environments. These environments support operations for over 14,000 employees. You will implement cloud engineering activities based on architectural direction from the M365/Azure Principal Architect and daily priorities set by the Cloud Engineering Supervisor. You will provide hands-on engineering support across Microsoft 365 and Azure, including service administration, cloud resource management, incident remediation, automation, and continuous improvement plans.

You will report to the Cloud Engineering Supervisor and be located at Cranberry Township, PA. This is a hybrid role. Work from home on Monday and Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Microsoft 365 Engineering

  • Manage and configure Microsoft 365 services including Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and related platform services

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve Microsoft 365 service health, availability, and performance issues

• Azure Cloud Engineering

  • Manage Azure resources following approved architecture and standards, including:

    • Subscriptions and resource groups

    • Identity and access controls (RBAC)

    • Networking constructs (as defined by architecture)

    • Platform and shared services supporting Microsoft 365 and enterprise workloads

• Automation, Operations, and Governance

  • Use automation and scripting (PowerShell and related tooling) to improve operational efficiency across Microsoft 365 and Azure

  • Evaluate new Microsoft 365 and Azure features to recommend operational improvements

  • Apply ITIL-based practices for Incident, Problem, and Change Management

  • Participate in on-call rotation to support a 24/7 global enterprise

Qualifications:

• BS, Computer Science, Information Systems or Related Field

• 5+ years of Microsoft system administration

• 3+ years of Microsoft cloud system/services support

• 2+ years of Microsoft Azure cloud computing experience

• Proficient in the administration of Microsoft systems and applications

• Hands-on experience managing Azure resources and subscriptions

• Experience implementing cloud engineering work from established architectural designs

• Proficient in Microsoft PowerShell

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
