About the role:
As a Principal Project Controls Specialist with Long Term Operations (LTO) Engineered Solutions team, you will lead project schedule and management activities for large, high complexity, projects. You will be responsible for leading cost control and management activities on complex projects and across product areas, which will include Identifying, and implementing value-add opportunities which will improve overall cost/schedule performance. You will apply tools and techniques to plan work such that inefficiencies are reduced, and overall project performance is optimized while also reviewing portfolio costs and providing reports to the project management team to ensure cost performance is to plan. You may also lead small diverse discipline teams through project phases and may be assigned to several complex projects simultaneously. You will spend ~60% of time supporting scheduling updates in Primavera P6, and ~40% supporting cost evaluation, adjusting billing milestones, updating SAP as requested.
You will report to the Manager of LTO ES Project Controls. This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere within the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and plan schedule/cost control aspects of a project, which includes, but is not limited to project baselines and cost projections.
- Apply tools and techniques to plan work such that inefficiencies are reduced, and overall project performance is optimized.
- Responsible for all aspects of project controls activities including scope, schedule, cost, risk, earned value assessment.
- Process, monitor, and track changes following an integrated change control process. Prepare project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections (including estimate at completion updates and earned value management) to support project performance and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status.
- Maintain project databases, systems and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members.
- Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
- Cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other stakeholders (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion.
- Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities which will add value.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management Engineering, Business, Accounting, Construction Management or related technical Discipline.
- 10+ years experience in project controls working on project cost and schedule
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000. per year.
