The Principal Specialist, Environmental will be responsible to sustain and assure environmental regulatory compliance and conformance to the Westinghouse EHS and sustainability Policy and the EHS Management System. In addition, the Principal Specialist, Environmental will Identify, maintain and/or direct actions required by relevant environmental laws and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable local, state regional and federal environmental regulations and manage multi-disciplined environmental projects that may include regulatory agency interaction, environmental law and regulation interpretation, management of environmental contractors and vendors and potential interaction/communication within all Westinghouse management levels.  This is a US ONLY Remote Role.


Your Day to Day:

  • Provide technical assistance and support in the implementation of the EHS Management System as it relates to ISO14001-2015 Environmental Management Systems and assist site(s) in the implementation of Global EHS Policies and Procedures. 
  • Conduct site environmental assessments and audits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and conformance with the EHS Management System. 
  • Assist sites in the interpretation of regulatory requirements, as needed. Identify and develop guidelines to ensure applicable sites effectively implement applicable new or modified regulatory requirements.
  • Assist sites in identifying and prioritizing environmental operational risks, ensure mitigation plans are appropriate and actions are effective.
  • Trend, analyze, report, and share site(s), company and industry environmental data, metrics, best practices and lessons learned relevant to environmental management.
  • Assist in the evaluation of sustainability data and the identification of actions necessary to meet sustainability goals.
  • Assist in the coordination of Environmental Due Diligence for pre and post integration of new acquisitions.


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related Science
  • 10 Years of environmental compliance experience with a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental compliance, environmental management systems and  audit/assessment processes
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work independently to complete tasks.  
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations
