About the role:

As a Program Manager you will responsible for all project management processes on medium to high complexity projects.  Requires leading moderately sized teams (average approx. 20 team members) that will be based in our Shoreview, Minn office. You may serve as a Technical Inputs Lead for proposal projects as assigned.  Example project disciplines include Engineering, Design, Fabrication, Innovation/Product Development, and Process Improvement.

You will report to the Project Portfolio Manager Long-Term Operations and be located in our Cranberry Woods, PA office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project planning:    Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
  • Project managing:    Based on project plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members to complete the work. Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and team members.   Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to departments following an integrated change management process. Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all partners are kept informed of status. Maintain project databases and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members.
  • Project closing:    Close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Develop relationships with team, customer, suppliers, Westinghouse in-country representation (for international projects), and other partners to bring project to successful completion.    Cultivate relationships with team, customer, and other partners (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion and identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Support successful project execution, promote continuous improvement within the team.    Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities which will add value.
  • Support financial planning through forecasting spending on assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required within applicable disciplines of Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline and 10+ years of experience
  • 10-15 years of experience as project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear or construction preferred.
