Exciting opportunity to be part of developing and deploying a new company-wide Flawless Launch program, and integrating Design to Value into our development projects.  This role will report to the GOS Central team, underneath the Director of Design to Value & Flawless Launch.  The Flawless Launch & DtV Core Team is responsible for the tools & processes needed to ensure flawless product development, which delivers products and solutions to customers that meet expectations, on time, on cost, and with the world class quality that’s expected of a Westinghouse product.  

 

Flawless Launch is a concurrent, scalable, and cross-functional gated product development process that builds upon Westinghouse’s existing procedures, but drives additional process, sourcing, and regulatory concept development early in the design process.  Contains different frameworks for different aspects of product change: new technology development, new product introduction, EPC, manufacturing site transfer, source transfer, and digital product development.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

Responsible for: Coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to develop process frameworks Maintaining the records of tasks & associated data (links to procedures, examples, templates, etc.) in the Flawless Launch digital toolbox.  Coaching and monitoring Flawless Launch projects through their execution for adherence to the process and integration of Design to Value.  Leading Design to Value Workshops, baselining, reporting, and handoff.  Training extended Flawless Launch team leaders and members on the methodology and specific tools and ensure compliance with the Flawless Launch process and stage gates.   

 

Flawless Launch Process Management:  Contribute to the definition of the Flawless Launch processes.  Develop and maintain the discrete sets of tasks, entry and exit points into the process, rules and application for how to scale for different project complexities, and references to existing Westinghouse procedures.  Gain alignment with stakeholders on framework creation.  Development of the detailed task information contained within the flawless launch frameworks.  Coordination with Digital Toolbox developers to ensure seamless integration of new content into existing tools.  

 

Tool Development: Organize and develop library of tools, templates, and best practice examples for each Flawless Launch task.  Leverage existing work from prior WEC development projects and capabilities as much as possible, and benchmark external resources for best practices.  Become an expert in Flawless Launch tools, able to provide consulting for their application into different kinds of projects.  Support efforts to develop and align Flawless Launch and DtV procedures.  Able to assess procedure gaps and work with partner procedure-owners on procedure construction and approvals.

 

Drive Tangible Benefits: Lead efforts with Flawless Launch & DtV teams develop and track conformance and impact metrics on Flawless Launch and DtV activities.  Coordinate with division and BU leaders to provide progress reporting metrics aligned to their needs and cadences.

 

Project Management & DtV Facilitation:  With technical experience and business acumen, effectively coach and drive cross functional teams across divisions and BU’s through the entire Flawless Launch and Design to Value processes.  Alignment of stakeholders, project scoping, target setting, project planning, workshop, and idea maturation phases.  Maintain clear communication with Extended DtV teams and stakeholders.  Integration and planning of DtV efforts in Flawless Launch product development projects.  Coordination of Core DtV team subject matter experts. 

 

Training Development: Develop instructional materials for development team members and leaders covering assigned elements of the Flawless Launch process, including process awareness, structuring and selecting the appropriate Flawless Launch task list, gate review expectations, and evidence documentation requirements.  Lead training sessions with other Core Team leaders.

 

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 5-7 plus years of  experience in any of the followoing: engineeirng, engineering project leadership, project management, quality management, or product development
  • Natural leader and self-starter, “doer” attitude, and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Excellent organizational and communication Skills
  • Must have strong business acumen and ability to communicate commercial basis for change
  • Familiarity with Westinghouse product development, product management, and/or quality processes and procedures, including process for writing and approving procedures
  • Product development experience
  • Desired: Continuous Improvement, Customer First, DFSS, and/or IDP experience
  • Ability to scope and coach projects effectively and to influence without direct authority
