General Job Function:

As Part of the Global Procurement Projects Supply Chain Solution Team, the Associate Project Procurement Manager – LEU+ (APPM) will play a vital role as a Project Procurement Assistant supporting the Low Enriched Uranium Plus (LEU+) fuel facility expansion project at the Columbia Fuel Facility. Your responsibilities will involve assisting with procurement activities for specialized capital equipment, materials, and services needed for the construction of the new facility.

 

Working closely with the Project Procurement Manager, you will help in tasks such as coordinating with suppliers, managing documentation, and supporting procurement processes. You will also have the opportunity to learn about negotiating contracts, evaluating proposals, and collaborating with various teams within the Supply Chain department.

 

In this role, you will be exposed to different aspects of procurement, including sourcing strategies, supplier communication, and contract preparation. You will also assist in analyzing costs, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Job Description:

  • Assist in the development of sourcing and procurement strategies then track open action items for each phase.
  • Support in identifying potential suppliers and establishing communication channels with them.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating the RFx Process and Proprietary Information Agreements (PIA).
  • Aid in soliciting quotations and analyzing contract proposals under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Learn to establish pricing, delivery terms, and conditions to meet financial, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Support in analyzing and evaluating cost elements for commodity groups to identify potential cost improvements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in contract preparation and purchasing processes.
  • Assist in managing supply and supplier commitments post-purchase order or contract issuance.
  • Learn to resolve discrepancies between supplier invoices and purchase orders in collaboration with Accounts Payables.
  • Gain exposure to Best-Cost Country Sourcing practices and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand supplier capacity, capability, and manufacturing processes relative to project technical requirements

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business or engineering or equivalent experience in supply chain or project management
  • Familiarity with project management concepts and a basic understanding of complex project oversight.
  • Exposure to procurement processes within projects, even on a small scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Developing analytical skills and a willingness to tackle problems with a sense of responsibility.
  • Interest in building relationships with suppliers and understanding the basics of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
  • Strong team player, eager to collaborate across different areas to support customer needs.
  • Awareness of International Sourcing practices would be a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of quality assurance standards and their importance in procurement.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow strategically, with a focus on operational outcomes.
  • Exposure to project management tools like Microsoft Project would be advantageous.
  • Willingness to contribute to cross-functional projects and gain experience in diverse business systems.
  • Interest in learning about ERP systems, especially in a global context.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally for business requirements, around 10-30% as needed.
