The SAP Architect-Data will be responsible for leading data migration projects to success during SAP implementations. This role will partner closely with internal business users, SAP Architect-Business Process and other SAP team members to understand the data needs. The SAP Architect-Data will be responsible for delivering the agreed scope of data within defined project timelines with high quality and high customer satisfaction. This role will interact with stakeholders from a variety of functions and departments in a nuclear regulated environment. This is a global role for the Westinghouse SAP Team and will be responsible for coordinating work within their workstream, including overseeing the work of project based team members. The SAP Architect-Data will partner with many technical experts within Westinghouse to ensure the data meets all needs. Most often the SAP Architect-Data will work with the module experts on the SAP team and the SAP Architect-Business Process to understand all the use cases and end-to-end scenarios that the data must support. Prior SAP data migration experience is required, and experience in the nuclear industry is preferred. This is a US ONLY Mobile Role.

 

 

Your Day to Day:

 

  • Responsible for leading the data migration activities to success (deliver the agreed scope of data within the project timeline with high quality and high satisfaction).
  • Participate in workshops and design sessions to understand the data needs for the SAP implementation
  • Investigate, analyze, and effectively communicate data requirements based on understanding of the SAP implementation
  • Develop and manage customer relationships with the legacy sites and within WEC to ensure all required stakeholders participate in relevant data discussions
  • Coordinate various subcontractors and client teams contributing to the data migration workstream
  • Develop and adhere to a data migration project plan that complements the SAP implementation schedule (including mock data loads)
  • Per the project’s needs, provide regular, structured updates on the data migration activities
  • Provide risk assessment and mitigation options. Work with the project manager and management team to implement solutions to protect the project timeline.
  • Lead the mapping and design sessions with the legacy sites
  • Partner with the SAP Architect-Business Process to ensure the proposed design aligns with available data, and, if required, offer suggestions to enrich or transform data to meet the design.
  • Collaborate with other members of the SAP team (and others) with the migration mapping and transformation activities
  • Partner with the technical stakeholders (SAP team, other technical teams) to prepare materials to present to the Design Center of Excellence
  • Present and participate in internal Design Center of Excellence to record stakeholder approval for the end-to-end design (including data needs). In partnership with the other members of the COE, record signoff on the design prior to starting the solution build or data activities.
  • Partner with SAP Architect-Business Process and Testing Lead to identify data needs for the project’s testing cycles.
  • Validate and load the data required for testing, and partner with the Testing Lead to record the details in Quality Center.
  • Participate and/or lead Design Center of Excellence meetings to review any requests for scope changes (enhancements, removing work from scope etc).
  • Review SAP data designs for export control risks.
  • Will be consulted when other project team members develop training materials and delivery plans.
  • Advise on optimal processes based on past experiences and best practices.
  • Maintain solution documentation where required.
  • Assist with cutover plans and go-live preparations.
  • Evaluate new functionality in future releases and determine impact on existing functionality.
  • Understand security and associated roles including export control as applicable to the solution.
  • Liaison with development and security personnel to implement enhancements and corrections. 

 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field 
  • 8+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of proven experience leading full lifecycle data migration projects for SAP
  • Motivated self starter with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with AGILE methodologies
  • Strong technical communication and problem solving skills are required
  • Strong customer communication (verbal and written) are required
  • Experience with export regulations such as ITAR, EAR, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty is a plus.
  • Experience in the nuclear or controlled material industry is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP development procedures and processes (change control, job scheduling, development methodologies, system landscape, application development, and back-up and recovery, etc.)
  • Experience with S/4 HANA is a plus.
