About the role:

As a Lead Smart Manufacturing Systems Architect – AI you will lead the development of AI projects across multiple manufacturing sites. You will play a critical part in driving our smart manufacturing strategy by applying AI technologies to enhance operational efficiency and quality.

 

You will report to the Senior Manager of Digital Manufacturing and will support the role remotely requiring 25% travel.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help develop a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with our smart manufacturing goals. Identify opportunities for AI deployment across manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with plant managers, process engineers, and data scientists to identify impactful AI projects. Scope projects, define goals, and create detailed execution plans.
  • This role would bridge manufacturing operations, automation, analytics, and AI to create scalable digital solutions tied directly to plant KPIs in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Provide expertise in AI methodologies, tools, and frameworks. Guide teams in developing models, algorithms, and solutions tailored to manufacturing challenges.
  • Provide full end-to-end support to operationalize AI applications within manufacturing environments
  • Work with IT, data analytics, and engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
  • Implement performance metrics to evaluate AI project effectiveness. Lead continuous improvement efforts to refine models and processes.
  • Promote AI literacy within the organization by conducting workshops and training sessions. Advocate for AI adoption at all organizational levels.
  • Deliver concise updates to senior management, emphasizing Return on Investment, project milestones, and important outcomes directly tied to manufacturing KPIs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering or related field required.
  • MES experience (Apriso or equivalent)
  • Experience with manufacturing processes or past exposure to manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data analytics, with at least 3 years in a project management role.
  • Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, and SQL).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, MES, and Ilott systems.
  • Excellent project management skills with familiarity in Agile or Lean methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and advanced analytics tools.
  • Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or AI-specific credentials.
  • Tangible Return on investment achieved through AI projects.
  • Reduction in cycle times, defects, or costs attributed to AI solutions.
  • Adoption rate of AI processes across sites.

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
