The Senior Microsoft Azure Engineer is a highly skilled technical professional responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust, secure, and scalable cloud-based solutions using the Microsoft Azure platform. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy complex infrastructures, applications, and services while ensuring best practices, security, and compliance requirements are met. Their expertise in Azure services, automation, and integration will be crucial in optimizing performance, driving innovation, and solving business challenges. As a senior member of the team, the engineer will also mentor junior colleagues, contribute to architectural decisions, and stay up-to-date with the latest trends in cloud technologies to drive continuous improvement and maintain a competitive edge.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Azure Operations
    • Creating Resource Groups
    • Assigning appropriate rule-based permissions
    • Take direction from M365 Lead in the execution of standard processes/procedures across the Azure tenant
    • Deploy developed resources and applications into production
    • Provide support for peer review of developed applications
    • Setting up and configuring Azure resources to follow WEC processes
    • Serve as liaison between the business and IT teams for Azure development efforts
    • Support Azure/M365 design efforts
    • Assist M365 Lead in the review of architecture
    • Deploy Azure resources as code 
  • Azure Billing Administration Support
  • Business Azure Support
    • Support Azure tenant and subscription integrations
  • Support business initiatives utilizing Azure solutions

 

Who You Are:

  • BS, Computer Science, Information Systems or Related Field
  • 4+ years of Microsoft Azure cloud computing administration experience
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficient in the administration of Azure platform applications and/or services
  • Familiar with Microsoft PowerShell
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and rapidly changing priorities with deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively and work effectively under pressure and with a high degree of independence
  • Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, and management to troubleshoot issues, and recommend and implement solutions
  • Ability to fully document technical design and related project or systems-level documentation
  • Must have professional demeanor, positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills in the English language
  • Must be able to work independently or in teams on assigned tasks with a high degree of technical judgment
  • Must possess a passion for driving for customer success

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

 

  • Experience in contributing to application architecture and design
  • Experience in utilizing PowerShell to deploy and manage Azure infrastructure and applications
  • Experience in utilizing Azure Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience in requirements analysis and consulting on solution architecture
  • Experience in common object-oriented design patterns for web applications and services
  • Experience in data modeling, domain-driven design, and test-driven development
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and Azure CI/CD automationCapable of developing, modifying, and troubleshooting advanced PowerShell scripts in support of automation and system administration
  • Experience with Azure Billing and Administration
