Senior Principal Engineer - Platform

About the role:

As a Platform Senior Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM/MECM, Group Policy, PKI, certificate services, Windows Server infrastructure, and associated access controls. You will establish technical standards, develops platform roadmaps, and guide plans that improve security, resiliency, supportability, and operational effectiveness across primary infrastructure services.

You will report to the Platform Services Manager and be located at Cranberry Township, PA. Hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

  • Be the technical authority for primary infrastructure services.

  • Lead complex technical reviews, engineering assessments, and design decisions for infrastructure plans.

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and subject matter expertise across Engineering and Operations teams.

  • Promote technical consistency, engineering best practices, and platform experierence across main infrastructure platforms.

  Core Infrastructure Engineering & Platform Ownership

  • Guide the design, engineering, modernization, and lifecycle management of primary infrastructure services.

  • Lead complex technical projects involving Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM/MECM, Group Policy, PKI, certificate services, Windows Server infrastructure, and associated access controls.

  • Define technical roadmaps and strategic direction for primary infrastructure platforms.

  Technical Standards and Platform Maturity

  • Establish technical standards, design principles, engineering practices, supporting documentation, and platform roadmaps that improve infrastructure maturity and lifecycle management.

  • Guide platform modernization, technical debt reduction, platform rationalization, and lifecycle management plans.

  Platform Assessments and Improvement

  • Perform best-practice and security assessments to identify infrastructure risks, resiliency gaps, modernization opportunities, and service improvements.

  • Develop remediation plans addressing security findings, technical debt, platform deficiencies, and operational risks.

  Modernization & Automation

  • Manage projects focused on platform modernization, infrastructure maturity, and technical debt reduction.

  • Promote automation and engineering practices that improve reliability, recoverability, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science or similar applicable degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, architecture, or platform services.

• 5+ years of experience serving as a senior technical lead, architect, principal engineer, or equivalent technical authority.

• Experience of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM/MECM, Group Policy, PKI, certificate services, Windows Server infrastructure, and associated access controls.

• Experience with infrastructure security, disaster recovery, resiliency, and platform lifecycle management.

• Experience with automation, scripting, infrastructure tooling, and platform management technologies.

• Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure environments, monitoring platforms, and operational readiness practices.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
