About the role:

As a Senior Manager - APX Schedule Planning you will lead the Schedule Planning Platform pillar within the APX Project Delivery & Commercial Integration team. The Senior Manager will maintain master schedules from which the Senior Manager builds and uses risk-informed, opportunity-specific schedules as the basis for project cost estimates. You will lead the strategy development of a scenario analysis process for project schedules and the supporting interactive planning tools.

 

You will report to the Director - Project and Portfolio Planning and work remotely, based in Cranberry, PA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategy for and implement interactive schedule planning tools that allow for scenario-based analysis showing impacts to cost and resources to guide data-based decision-making.
  • Lead the project schedule planning team – which will have direct reports and also use matrixed Project Controls resources – in the preparation of project-specific schedules for the APX business.
  • Coordinate the development of the standard master schedule and Basis of Schedule (BOS) templates. This coordination is with APX asset functions and OPX business segments, including I&C and Fuel. The goal is to improve consistency and efficiency of customer project schedule development.
  • Oversee the development of custom project schedule models and BOS documentation to support Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, proposals, and task orders from APX Project Development.
  • Review solicitations and coordinate with proposal teams to define scheduling requirements and develop proposal strategies.
  • Integrate schedule development with cost estimating, ensuring consistency between technical, cost, and schedule volumes.
  • Coordinate with other APX PD&CI teams to collectively provide clear resource demand signal and schedule input for offer development.
  • Implement and maintain standard scheduling processes, documentation, and gate reviews; ensure audit readiness.
  • Provide project schedule leadership during fact-finding, negotiations, and contract award processes.
  • Mentor team members to build internal expertise and succession capabilities.
  • Analyze historical schedule data and trends to enhance schedule accuracy and efficiency.
  • Help implement scheduling software to standardize project schedule preparation.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, or a related discipline, along with at least 8-years of progressive project scheduling experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • 10–12+ years progressive experience across schedule/portfolio planning, proposals, and delivery integration.
  • Portfolio & scenario expertise: demonstrated leadership in portfolio planning, what‑if scenario design, and simulation with clear executive decision framing.
  • Expert in Primavera P6 including resource planning, schedule risk, and cost model integration
  • MS Engineering, MBA, PMP helpful
  • Resource management and optimization: experience with constraint‑based and skills‑based assignment; familiarity with optimization concepts for resource matching and leveling.
  • Familiarity with project execution and proposal management, and scheduling principles and system compliance.

 

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $144,000 to $180,000 per year.
