We are hiring a Sr. Sales Manager to join our Long Term Operations (LTO) Commercial team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both the sales and execution of large, complex projects. This role is for a dynamic individual who can drive business development efforts, while having had hands-on experience in the successful execution of large-scale engineering projects. This role requires a deep understanding of complex project sales, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients to achieve project success.
This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States.
Your Day to Day:
- Lead Sales Initiatives: Drive the sales process for large, complex engineering projects, managing the Capture Team and key client relationships from opportunity identification through to contract signature and transfer to the Project Director. Leverage deep experience in project execution to offer realistic, value-driven solutions to clients.
- Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities. Track industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that may impact sales strategies.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored engineering solutions that meet both technical and financial expectations.
- Sales Strategy: Use practical experience in project execution to develop sales strategies that align with the company's capabilities. Collaborate closely with Customer Solutions Managers, and Account Executives to develop tailored capture plans, presentations, and strategies that address client needs and project specifications. Identify commercial risks and assist in identifying project technical risks and developing an overall mitigation strategies with the Capture Team.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Regularly engage with senior management to report on sales activities, proposal status, and business development efforts. Provide accurate sales forecasts, and report on sales progress to senior leadership. Provide accurate sales forecasts, and report on sales progress to senior leadership and update D365 accordingly
- Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations on contracts, agreements, and project terms. Work closely with legal, financial, and technical teams to ensure contracts are aligned with company policies and are in the best interest of both the company and the client.
- Maintain Knowledge of Products and Services: Stay current with technological advancements, engineering trends, and the competitive landscape to ensure the company remains a leader in delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Proposal Approvals: Lead approval process in coordination with the Proposal Manager including presenting the offer for approval and obtaining buy-in from WEC key stakeholders to ensure offering meets Westinghouse target objectives while meeting Customer needs.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in sales and project delivery, specifically focused on large, complex engineering projects
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- General knowledge of Nuclear Power Plant Operations
- A proven track record of successfully managing the sales process for multimillion-dollar projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering project lifecycle, from design to implementation.
- Strategic thinking and ability to identify new business opportunities in a highly competitive industry.
- Proven negotiation skills, with experience managing complex contracts and project terms.
- Demonstrated ability to work across teams, ensuring effective communication between sales, technical, and delivery teams.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams
