About the role:
We are seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to support the analysis and design of reinforced concrete systems, seismic analysis, and geotechnical studies. This role provides hands-on experience in structural modeling, design calculations of mass concrete, reinforced concrete, building seismic design, soil interactions with the buildings, geotechnical studies, and collaboration with senior and principal engineers on variety of projects.
You will report to the Concrete and Seismic Analysis Manager and be located at our global headquarters in Cranberry, PA. You will be in a Hybrid based role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support civil / structural design activities which include calculation creation and design.
- Address technical issues related to the fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of a civil/structural project. This includes technical justification of design changes and requires troubleshooting of emergent technical issues.
- Gain familiarity with analytical tools such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and GTSTRUDL
- Aid in maintenance of software compliance records and closure of engineering corrective actions
- Become familiar with applicable industry civil/structural codes and (such as ACI, AISC, AWS) standards and company procedures.
- Develop engineering sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably within Civil/Structural Engineering).
- Prior Nuclear industry experience preferred.
- Prior Westinghouse internship experience is preferred.
- FE certification preferred
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
