Supervisory Licensing Engineer

About the role:

As a Supervisory Licensing Engineer, you will help deploy advanced nuclear technology, with a focus on Advanced Plant reactor projects. You will contribute to the licensing and regulatory strategy for new nuclear plant development, ensuring compliance with domestic and international standards. You will have a team of direct reports who will implement the assigned APX Licensing Projects.

As a supervisory engineer, you will lead teams of licensing engineers to develop the licensing strategy and deliverables.

You will report to the New Plant Licensing Manager and work a mobile/hybrid role located in Cranberry, PA or Rock Hill, SC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of licensing strategies for new nuclear plant technologies, with emphasis on AP1000, AP300, and eVinci designs.
• Manage resource workload and assignments to minimize downtime and maintain high productivity
• Ensure team follows safety, quality, cost, performance, and schedule expectations.
• Support team development, including training compliance, technical leadership development, and mentoring.
• Conduct quarterly performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback as delegated by the manager.
• Develop proposal development through technical input, scope definition, and schedule coordination.
• Promote communication between Westinghouse, customers/licensees, the U.S. NRC, and international regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with technical leads to establish technical direction of work.
• Communicate team status, risks, resource needs, priorities, and technical recommendations to Global Licensing staff and project partners.
• Support Manager in hiring, onboarding, and employee development of entire New Plant licensing team.

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience demonstrating technical leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and coordination of work.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• We prefer familiarity with licensing, including experience with regulatory interface, both domestically and internationally.
• Familiar w/ Westinghouse advanced plant designs, operation, and work processes
• Nuclear safety and customer focus outlook
• <10% travel to support customer, industry, or regulator activities, with opportunities for additional travel, if desired.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
