Supplier Performance Engineering Intern

Your Day-to-Day:
· Assist in Supplier Oversight: Support on-site and remote evaluations of suppliers to ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements.
· Develop Supplier Oversight Plans: Collaborate in creating plans to monitor supplier activities, document submissions, manufacturing processes, inspections, and tests to ensure adherence to critical requirements.
· Coordinate Cross-Functional Activities: Work with various departments, including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight, to enhance supplier performance.
· Identify and Report Issues: Assist in recognizing and escalating significant supplier issues, risks, and quality events to ensure prompt resolution.
· Monitor Supplier Performance: Help track key performance metrics such as On-Time Delivery and Quality Issues and assist in implementing corrective actions and improvement plans.
· Evaluate Supplier Capabilities: Participate in technical assessments of new and existing suppliers to evaluate their manufacturing capabilities, capacity, process controls, and compliance with relevant standards.
· Support Supplier Development: Aid in supplier development and qualification activities for new products, improvement initiatives, and cost reduction efforts, including enhancing suppliers’ manufacturing processes and quality management systems.
· Review Technical Documents: Assist in reviewing supplier process documents, process capability analyses, and contribute to design for manufacturability discussions.
· Collaborate with Design Engineering: Work alongside Design Engineering to ensure clarity of engineering drawing requirements and effective communication to support suppliers.
· Implement Value Engineering Principles: Support the application of Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Design for Assembly, and Design for Manufacturing principles during the design process.
Who You Are:
· Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Industrial, Nuclear, or Manufacturing Engineering.
· Academic Standing: Minimum GPA of 3.0.
· Technical Skills: Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, non-destructive examination (NDE), inspection, and testing.
· Analytical Skills: Familiarity with process capability analysis and quality tools.
· Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
· Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Industry Experience: Previous internship or project experience in the power generation, nuclear, or related industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, or supply chain (preferred).
