Thermal Hydraulic Engineer Intern Summer 2025

As a Nuclear Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with the Westinghouse VIPRE-W code which is used to set PWR core thermal safety limits. Your main role will consist in writing VIPRE-W input files corresponding to the EPRI Critical Heat Flux fuel bundle database and generating the code outputs. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into the industry and help you develop your engineering skills.

Responsibilities:

·       Become familiar with VIPRE-W code applications and use.

·       Prepare technical documentation and reports.

·       Participate in technical presentations and written communications for internal customers and management.

·       Use analytical skills to solve technical engineering problems.

·       Organize and archive VIPRE-W database in easy-to-read format.

Qualifications:

·       Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field.

·       Minimum GPA of 3.0.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Proficiency in core thermal-hydraulic codes.

·       Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

·       Willingness to learn new engineering skills.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·       Previous internship or project experience in nuclear engineering is a plus.
