VP Component Engineering & Manufacturing
Reporting to the COO, EVP Global Operations Services the VP Component Engineering & Manufacturing is a key member of the GOS leadership team and responsible for overall global strategic vision, policy deployment and execution to that vision for those teams. The VP Component Engineering & Manufacturing will oversee all components engineering as well as functions of manufacturing for all Westinghouse components manufacturing locations including locations in the US, Canada, and Italy. This role will also focus heavily on people development to ensure strong leadership succession for future growth and driving of operational efficiencies. The successful candidate will possess strong skills in the areas of modern engineering and manufacturing, continuous improvement, influence, learning agility, leadership, motivation, self-awareness and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- EH&S – creating a strong and nuclear safety culture and industrial safety culture through effectively implementing sustainable business processes that result in decreased safety events, injuries and accidents, while maintaining high compliance to all regulatory requirements.
- Nuclear Safety – Interface and maintain compliance with key local and national government regulatory agencies
- Quality – creating and effectively implementing sustainable processes and working closely with Engineering to drive down process upsets or defects
- Delivery – creating and effectively implementing sustainable business processes that result in improved predictability and speed of product shipments
- Cost – creating and executing strategies to sustainably improve manufacturing cost and labor productivity
- Operational Excellence: Develop, implement and update monthly KPI’s both globally and for each manufacturing location. Lead Management Operating System for all locations to drive systematic operations and reporting to ensure optimal visibility of operations
- Develop an organizational culture where the use of daily management and continuous process improvement is fully embraced as the way to achieve sustainable competitive advantage through the use of Modern Mfg./Lean techniques and tools
- Work with customers, executives, senior managers, and sites to obtain prompt resolution on key business issues likely to impact customer satisfaction and overall company operations
- Lead the design and manufacture of critical and high-impact components of systems
- Managing budgets: Developing and managing budgets for operational activities (160M)
- Drive collaboration across the organization to identify needs and develop scalable solutions
- Lead efforts to optimize engineering solutions for scalability, performance, and reliability
- Deploy data and research to drive cross-business corporate prioritization
- Prioritize objectives and implement strategies to achieve company initiatives as part of the leadership team
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve mutual goals
- Manage relationships with key clients
- Form and lead internal teams, providing training and mentorship as needed
- Directly and indirectly manage staff with the goal of enhancing professional development and personal growth
- Monitoring performance: Monitoring performance against objectives using KPIs
- Ensuring compliance: Ensuring the organization complies with legal regulations and standards
- Travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (up to 60%)
Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:
- A minimum of a(n) MBA or equivalent experience is preferred for this position; a Bachelor´s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution is required
- Experience of 15+ years is required for this position, in a large manufacturing and/or engineering environment with progressive leadership experience
- Equivalent industry experience of five of more years is highly desirable
- Have demonstrated the ability to effectively lead multi-site operations with $500- 1B in annual revenue
- General management experience is required. Prior experience demonstrating effective management skill in a multi-site global organization is preferred
- Extensive understanding of Nuclear Grade design and manufacturing, especially ASME III and RCCM
Professional Certifications:
- Certified LEAN /Six Sigma is desired

This positon is based out of the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Candidates in other geographic locations will be considered.
