VP, Westinghouse Government Services Business Development

Job Responsibilities


We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director with Westinghouse Government Services Organnization.  The opportunity is the Business Development lead for Government Services and influence internal and external stakeholders to cature DOE, DOD, and other Federal business opportunities. Lead Government Services development activities to sharpen partnership strategies and manage the relationships with the strategic partners.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position involves the development and closure of opportunities for the DOE, DOD, other Federal customers in the Decontamination, Decommissioning, Remediation, Waste Management, operations and product development business in the America’s marketability domestically and internationally.
  • The objective is to grow the Americas business in WGS to achieve a growth to meet or exceed our strategic plan. 
  • The position will require visiting customers at multiple levels of the organization with a focus on senior management, establishing relationships and developing opportunities by providing value added solutions and approaches.
  • Reports to President of WGS. 
  • Develop and execute capture strategies and plans for the Government Services BD opportunities in the selected markets.
  • Possess an understanding of Federal Government budgeting and procurement.
  • Extensive network of relationships within federal departments and agencies.
  • Develop and advance the partnership strategies to enable Westinghouse to compete for DOE, DOD, other Ferdaral projects.
  • Communicate with the company executives about the offer strategies and proposals, and influence the executives as needed.
  • Develop and manage the relationships with customer executives, and other external stakeholders, including government, suppliers, and partners
  • Direct and lead the Offer Development team to perform required activities to develop winning proposals, including defining DOR, developing costs and prices, and developing commercial terms and etc.
  • Effectively apply lessons learned from current project activities and integrate these into new offer development bids
  • Talent Management: Develop and mentor matrix reporting staff to support new business opportunities.  Provide performance feedback to the managers of matrix team member
  • Maintain and update as necessary the product business and marketing plans, including tracking and addressing strategic actions and milestones.
  • Coordinate opportunity and quote development and tracking to ensure the potential for revenue generation is healthy within WGS.  Align business objectives with real-life market potential.
  • Assist the product line directors in supporting industry events, including selected conferences, regulator meetings and forums. 
  • Ensure marketing efforts are timely and aligned with the strategic objectives for healthy product line growth. 
  • Align messaging with critical customer needs with strategies/capabilities. 
  • Key interface for WGS with other product lines, support functions, account teams and customers.  
  • Act as a critical issue task manager in support of the product line’s goals and guidelines.

 

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, strategy, or engineering required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 20 plus years of experience in relevant business functions (e.g., strategy, corporate development, marketing, product management), including demonstrated leadership in these areas; Experience in the nuclear or related industry experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership in developing & implementing action plans, executing strategic analysis, translating data into recommendations, & moving to action to achieve bottom-line results.
  • Knowledge of customers’ critical performance drivers.
  • Ability to present solutions that align with Westinghouse strategy. Brings visibility to key opportunities.
  • Ability to persuasively present to top management and customers.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in finance, cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Represent strategic initiatives to Westinghouse executive management affect change or course correction as needed.
  • Build and maintain effective individual customer relationships as appropriate.
  • Must posses strong leadership business aceumn to have the ability to effectively and persuasively present information to influence customers, industry organizations and executive-level leadership.
  • Possesses a broad view of future of Westinghouse, including how the Nuclear Industry will be impacted by the strategic plans of one or more business partner areas.  
  • Broad working knowledge of global power industry, competitive intelligence analysis and strategic business planning.
  • Knowledge of financing, risk analysis, planning techniques, business management principles and practices.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Experience with international nuclear environment is desired.
