About the role:

 

As a Principal Delivery Stream Engineer you will provide senior technical and execution leadership for Reactor Coolant Pumps (RCPs) procurement and delivery activities supporting both domestic and internation projects. This role is responsible for driving complex procurement execution across the full lifecycle, including pre–purchase order (PO) planning, purchase order placement, post-PO oversight, delivery, and final turnover to the customer.

 

The Principal Engineer leads supplier engagement efforts, supports supplier qualification and capacity assessments, and guides resolution of complex technical, commercial, and schedule challenges. You will support advanced project execution responsibilities such as integrated schedule development, risk and opportunity management, cost and performance monitoring, and accountability for achieving defined financial and schedule milestones. The Principal WBS 3 Engineer serves as an important technical interface between Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Project Management, and external suppliers to ensure delivery outcomes.

 

You will report to the WBS 5 Delivery Stream Manager and be located at the Cranberry Township, PA office on a hybrid basis. No relocation will be provided for this position.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Supplier Strategy and Procurement:
    • Drive/Support Supplier Identification and down selection.
    • Drive/Support completion of Supplier Technical Evaluations and Quality Audits.
    • Drive/Support completion of NDA/PIA negotiations.
    • Lead request for quotation (RFQ) package creation (i.e. draft SAP requisition for RFQ including all technical and quality requirements).
    • Collaborate with design engineering and quality to develop appropriate document submittal and witness and hold point (W&HP) requirements.
    • Lead supplier design proposal / compliance matrix review meetings.
    • Create manufacturing and process plan estimates for use in design option selection or validation of cost and schedule.
    • Work with Supplier Performance Engineering to develop supplier oversight plans and, with Supplier Quality and Fab Follow Engineering to ensure resources are available to effectively support supplier manufacturing and delivery.
  • Supplier Management:
    • Drive cost and schedule certainly / reductions through supplier management efforts.
    • Create agendas and lead PO kick-off meetings with suppliers.
    • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings (e.g., bi-weekly, weekly, etc.) with supplier and Westinghouse project team members.
    • Manage/drive Westinghouse project team execution.
    • Manage execution of required supplier surveillance and W&HPs.
    • Review supplier submittals and manage Westinghouse’s review performance, by coordinating resource allocation with management.
    • Hold pre-job briefs for important/critical PO manufacturing activities.
    • Develop PO change requisitions / notices within SAP.
    • Provide regular project schedule updates and periodic Customer Status updates.
    • Ensure all required Supplier PO scope is complete, including fabrication, testing and documentation.
    • Ensure the Westinghouse Quality Release (QR) and associated Quality Assurance Data Package (QADP) have been completed to support shipment.
    • Work with Westinghouse logistics to arrange for shipment.
  • Group Development and Leadership:
    • Support recruiting, onboarding and training of new or entry level Delivery Stream Engineers, including development/maintenance of training requirements, materials and development process.
    • Mentor and/or manage junior engineers and interns.
    • Demonstrate supply chain technical leadership as the SME for WBS 5 commodities and supply chain delivery stream processes.
    • Support group, department and organization strategy development and implementation efforts.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering; industrial/manufacturing, mechanical or relevant engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferred in the power generation or nuclear industries, with manufacturing and supply chain experience.
  • Proficiency/experience with software applications including SAP, and Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, Teams, PowerBI and Teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to support supplier development, management and emergent issue resolution efforts.
