Waste Management Engineering Intern Summer 2026

About the role:

As a Waste Management Engineering intern, you will report to the Waste Management Senior Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare engineering documentation, including calculations, system and operational descriptions, licensing documents, and procurement specifications
• Manage system/facility requirements for waste management, perform equipment sizing calculations, and support process optimization projects
• Collaborate with drafting teams to create system diagrams such as flow diagrams, instrumentation and control schematics, and general arrangement/layout drawings
• Participate in proposal preparation, including drafting technical descriptions and managing client requirements
• Work in international teams, with the position based in the U.S. and collaboration across U.S. and European technical and business teams

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Complete Sophomore year of college
• No relocation assistance provided

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
