Additave Manufacturing Program Leader

 

This position is responsible and accountable for mid-term and supports long term execution of the AM strategy and the operational direction of the AM COE.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Recognized as a global Industry Expert within Additive Manufacturing and other manufacturing technologies.
  • Leads the advancement of the AM-related business strategy and new applications.
  • Serves as a primary technical resource for GOS and BU management, leading the achievement of milestones on the AM roadmap.
  • Expert understanding of technically complex product and multiple AM technologies; integrates well across multiple disciplines.
  • Careful judgement and application of modern technical tools to diverse, often difficult-to-define problems and requirements. Self-driven to expand technical breadth and its new applications to new business directions (growth).
  • Develops and leads growth opportunities having major business impact, provides technical leadership for large growth projects. 
  • Acts as a technology focal point internally and externally, able to develop partnering and alliance teams with management support, participates in formulation of strategic planning for the AMCOE.
  • A skilled communicator with ability to influence across functional and organizational boundaries across all layers of the enterprise.
  • Responsible for key aspects of the AM COE such as resource allocation, technical planning, or other complex decision processes requiring significant organizational knowledge and participation.
  • Leads AM COE technical functions and leverages internal and external technical stature towards new COE businesses.
  • Establishes a performance-based culture with clear expectations for success and accountability.
  • Coordinate AM Process Development (with suppliers and internal groups), drive innovation and application of suitable AM technologies to expand AM offering and opportunity space, cognizant of technology development in industry and define use cases and applications within Nuclear safety and non-safety portfolio, external collaboration liaison, coordinate development of quality requirements, AM Manufacturing @ WEC, Supplier management.
  • Coordinate innovation across all regions and divisions / businesses.
  • Coordination of dedicated Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, Procurement, and Quality resources to execute industrialization activities according to plan. Interfacing with internal entities to determine core, non-core and make vs. buy, and supply chain design.
  • Ensuring process documentation/work instructions in place.
  • Support securing capital and expense funding to support process improvement and capacity (both internally and externally).
  • Drive the application of work processes and standards to ensure high production quality and process efficiency.
  • Development of integrated delivery system processes as necessary to support AM process offerings

 

 

Required to be successful in the role:

  • 10+ years of increasing responsibility
  • Demonstrated metal-AM production insertion experience in highly regulated industry
  • Understand Additive Manufacturing technology, Powder-bed technology, Direct Metal Laser Sintering Technology, Electron Beam Melting Technology, DED/LMD Technology (wire fed, powder fed), BJP
  • Technical leadership in Additive Manufacturing
  • Recognized as an AM industry expert
  • Broad knowledge of Additive Manufacturing technology and other manufacturing experience
  • Business acumen, short term and long-term business understanding
  • Customer and regulatory experience
  • Supplier development
  • Process documentation/work instructions/industry spec development
  • Capital deployment
  • Licensing, joint development programs, university or government funded collaboration
