The Engineering Intern – eVinci Operation & Training Lead is responsible for collaborating with subject matter experts (SME) in Components & Equipment, Mechanical Systems, Materials Engineering, Testing & Materials, Licensing, NTR Engineering, Technical Integration and Configuration, eVinci Systems, Modeling & Simulation, GOS - GES, GIC, D&I teams, and external stakeholders to support eVinci™ microreactor operations design, development, and implementation, including plans, procedures, training program content, Simulator, Human Factors Engineering (HFE), Maintenance, and Work Safety


Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):

  • Collaborate directly with internal, cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team of experts responsible for development, design, and
  • implementation of the eVinci™ microreactor operations program, including HFE, Simulator, and all applicable design-based content
  • for eVinci Nuclear Test Reactor (NTR), and commercial eVinci reactor (EVR) startup, normal operation, maintenance, and accident
  • conditions plans, procedures, and training.
  • Support Simulator and/or HFE SMEs and Technical Leads in the execution of NTR Task Analyses, evaluation of Computerized
  • Operator Support Systems (COSS) to balance situation awareness, workload for demonstration and implementation of semi[1]autonomous operation, support with HFE Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for ensuring HSI design adheres to established
  • human factors practices and meets all operational requirements.
  • Support trusted operations and training program SMEs and Technical Leads in development and implementation of plans,
  • procedures, and associated training content development, including identification of risk areas, development of mitigation
  • strategies, and incorporation of performance evaluation measures to ensure overall program meets safety, quality, schedule, and fiscal objectives


Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technically related discipline in progress.
  • Preferred disciplines are Mechanical, Nuclear (Operations), Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), and Electrical.
  •  Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
  •  Completion of Sophomore year of college/ Must still be in school
  •  Must be able to work a minimum of 8 weeks; 10 plus weeks preferred. 
  •  US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Years of Experience (if applicable): N/A

  • Any prior experience in nuclear construction, startup, and/or operations, preferably in
  • maintenance, engineering, project/program management or similar discipline with experience interfacing with multi-disciplinary functional areas is a plus.
