Senior Engineer - INL MOOSE (Hybrid)
Safety Analysis Engineer supporting eVinciTM Micro Reactors.
Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position. This position is a hybrid wfh/office located in Etna, PA.
Day-to-Day:
In this position, the candidate with be working within the eVinci Safety Analysis team and interfacing with the greater eVinciTM Micro Reactor project team, to perform modeling and safety analysis activities for advanced reactor designs and can expected to be responsible for the following:
· Provide technical support for assigned work performed in the safety analysis of microreactor systems consistent with regulatory requirements
· Perform modeling and analysis of advanced reactor designs using the INL MOOSE-based multiphysics (neutronic and/or thermal mechanical) codes. Develop technical documentation and presentations related to these calculations and analyses
· Work as a cross functional team (i.e. system and component design, testing, manufacturing, materials, etc.) to solve challenging technical problems to progress the eVinci Microreactor and other advanced reactor designs
· Interface and communicate with technical leads and project managers in coordination of activities associated with assigned work scope
Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
Required:
· BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or recognized equivalent required with a minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
· 2-5+ years of experience
· Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles with experience or background in thermal hydraulics and applied fluid transport
· Must possess analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail and excellent communication skills including technical writing
· Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate a variety of issues: project status, issue resolution, engineering recommendations, etc.
· Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks within an innovative development program
Preferred:
· Advanced (MS) degree in heat and mass transfer and numerical thermal analysis
· Modeling or simulation experience with the INL MOOSE-based multiphysics (neutronic and/or thermal mechanical) codes and neutronics analysis (MCNP, Serpent),
