Supplier Inspection Technician
The Supplier Inspection Technician is primarily responsible for performing inspections of items, materials, and components at Westinghouse supplier facilities. This includes using Inspection, Measuring, and Test Equipment (IM&TE) to perform in-process and final inspections, as well as assessing supplier-provided quality inspection and test documentation. Within this role, the focus will be to interact with cross-functional eVinci Microreactor development teams to support supplier inspection initiatives and successfully satisfy the corporate vision statement and eVinci program objectives.
Domestic and International travel is required, with the ability to possess a passport and any Visas, as needed.
This role is located in Pittsburgh (Etna), PA.

Your Day to Day:
· Collaborate internally with Supply Chan Management (SCM) and Manufacturing to coordinate inspection activities at supplier facilities.
· Communicate with suppliers to schedule inspection and oversight activities at their facilities.
· Perform in-process and final inspections of parts and components to verify compliance with technical and quality requirements.
· Identify and document deviations from quality specifications or compliance requirements during inspections.
· Provide feedback to suppliers regarding identified issues and ensure timely implementation of improvements and corrective actions.
· Maintain detailed inspection reports, ensuring nonconformances are documented and corrective actions taken by suppliers are tracked to closure.
· Review vendor inspection documentation and other quality documents (compliance certificates, inspection and test reports, etc.) to verify adherence to design and fabrication specifications.
· Gather and control product samples for testing in accordance with established procedures and ensure appropriate inspection tools and equipment are used to measure dimensions, test functionality, and analyze material properties.
· Coordinate with internal Quality personnel to purchase metrology equipment or services when required including quote development and management of supplier correspondence.
· Achievement of inspector qualification (ANSI N45.2.9/NQA-1) is required.
Who You Are:
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
· Associate’s degree in engineering technology or related technical discipline is required.
· Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Quality Inspector or similar role is required.
· Formal training in metrology and inspection is preferred.
· Proficiency in using various inspection tools like calipers, gauges, micrometers, and specialized testing equipment (IM&TE) is required.
· Proficiency with advanced measuring tools (FARO arm, CMM, Laser Scanners) is preferred.
· Advanced troubleshooting skills are preferred.
· Ability to physically move throughout supplier facilities safely, utilizing all required protective equipment, is required.
· Competency with generating, reviewing, approving, and archiving electronic inspection records.
· Effective communication and presentation skills to convey inspection findings and facilitate quality improvement initiatives.
· Audit and supplier source surveillance experience is preferred.
· Experience operating within a formal quality management system (ISO 9001, AS9100, ASME NQA-1) is required.
· U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
· Physical capability of lifting up to 40 pounds is required.
· Valid passport (or ability to obtain one) is required, as is ability to travel internationally for periods of up to two (2) weeks.
· 25-75% travel per month is required.
· Knowledge of standard business software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SAP, Leading2Lean) is preferred.
