Our team needs (1) personnel who can perform Environmental Specialist Activities
Turkey Point consists of 6,700 acres, 168 linear miles of cooling canal system, surrounded by 20,000 acres of Everglades Mitigation which supports both Nuclear & Fossil operations. With this lies a very sensitive ecological system due to its location between two National Parks, & because of this, it’s considered one of the largest crocodile sanctuaries in North America. WEC Electric LLC. has been contracted to maintain all grounds outside of the protected area of Turkey Point Nuclear Station. This consists of, but are not limited to, vegetation management up to & including tree trimming & ratification of invasive species, landscaping, excavation, grading & debris removal from cooling canal system preventing intake intrusion potentially down powering the Nuclear Reactors. Scope of work also includes janitorial services, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical & maintenance of all facilities including daycare, gun range, etc., seasonal crocodile surveys, captures, & habitat management.
Our team needs (1) personnel who can perform Environmental Specialist Activities. Their main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Manage PTN Domestic Wastewater Facility, including over site of contractor and compliance control relating to agency reporting and inspections.
- Manage/Facilitate Hazardous Communication Training for Land U contractors.
- Manage Industrial Waste for Land Utilization.
- Assist with environmental inspections and controls to include industrial compliance, site and surrounding water quality sampling, Interceptor Ditch/Saltwater intrusion prevention program/Groundwater Monitoring.
- Manage Land Utilization Above Ground Storage Tank program.
- Work with Chemistry Environmental Specialist for alignment with all environmental activities, audits, and inspections.
- Perform QC checks for Meteorological Data compilation and archive all data into Document Control. Perform Met Tower weekly inspections. Generate and track all condition reports for Meteorological Towers.
- Management of permits to include compliance and renewal for Governmental, State, and Local permits.
- Assist Wildlife Biologist with native and non-native wildlife management.
- Assist Land Utilization with inspections of the Cooling Canal System, Thermal Performance testing, and Thermal Environmental Monitoring System stations.
- Wastewater Treatment Plant DMR reporting
Skillset Required:
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, more specifically Excel and Word functions is required.
Must be able to work in the field 8–10-hour days; Experience working in extreme weather conditions including high humidity and hot temperatures for long hours.
Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
