This position is hybrid in nature requiring 3 days/week on-site at the WEC facility shown below.  Relocation may be offered for this position.

  • Westinghouse Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF), Hopkins, SC, 10-minutes east of Columbia, SC

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Develop expertise in the design, construction, operation, and troubleshooting of fuel manufacturing sites.
  • Grow and develop extensive technical expertise fuel manufacturing supporting the CFFF and new construction of the LEU+ manufacturing site.
  • Work with Engineering Mentor to develop skills for Safety Basis in a Nuclear Environment.
  • Work in teams to resolve critical issues impacting the construction and operation of nuclear manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop and maintain an effective business relationship with internal and external Westinghouse customers.
  • Develop specifications for replacement parts in the manufacturing environment
  • Follow plant standards for design and implementation of projects at the CFFF
  • PLC code review, programming, optimization, and visualization – Allen Bradley and GE

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Required (other Engineering disciplines will not be considered for our Electrical Engineering Intern Positions).
  • Completion of Sophomore year college by May 2025 with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong technical aptitude required – Passion for Technical Design and Analysis
  • Eagerness to learn and master engineering software required.  
  • Must strongly value safety & quality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Desire to be a technical and people leader on projects
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to communicate a variety of issues:  project status, problem resolution, engineering recommendations, etc.
  • Open to limited travel as needed.

 Nice-to-Have:

  • Prior internships a plus.
  • Prior experience w/ technical engineering projects and/or research a plus
  • PLC programming experience
  • HMI Visualization experience
