Advanced Product Assurance Engineer role with single point accountability for component quality.  Establishes KPI and reporting to monitor and respond to quality performance for component shipments.  Primary point of contact for customer issues, questions, and responses.  Identifies, resolves, and prevents compliance and satisfaction issues relating to product quality for component customer orders.  Travel to customer and supplier sites is required.

Essential Functions/Supporting Responsibilities:

Establish scorecard for CFFF component quality and customer satisfaction

  • Develop and implement an automated suite of metrics associated with component quality and satisfaction suitable for both internal and external report.  Once implemented, communicate, and respond to identified early indicators and trends.

Customer Interface – Expectations

  • Develop and maintain playbook of expected conforming conditions for delivered components.  Gain customer agreement and train customers on playbook.  Proactively revise playbook based on feedback from internal and external customers.

Customer Interface – Response

  • Respond to customer questions, concerns, and issues.  Perform Causal Analysis.  Develop and implement corrective actions.  Provide feedback to customers and resolve any feedback.

Customer Interface – Oversight

  • Work with customers and fuel to plan oversight of Westinghouse.  Ensure Westinghouse is prepared and respond to any customer questions or issues. 

Process Ownership – Component Product Returns

  • Establish, clear, streamlined, and accountable process for component returns from customer.  Ensure returns are conducted timely and with a thorough investigation to find technical causes of nonconformances.  Work with internal customers to develop corrective action plans.  Provide feedback to customers on investigation and actions being taken.

Component supplier Interface

  • For items 1,2,5, perform responsibilities related to input of supplier product.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA Degree in a technical field – preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • 10-15 years in manufacturing or oversight of manufacturing/suppliers
  • 5 years previous nuclear experience
  • LEAN manufacturing
  • Corrective action investigation & Causal Analysis
  • Interface with customers and regulators
  • KPI / Scorecard development
  • Data analytics

Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience implementing continuous improvement/LEAN projects as a leader
  • Vacuum furnace experience
  • Grids
  • Furnace annealing
  • Power BI
