Manager Quality Control Operations

The Quality Control Manager leads CFFF inspection and laboratory personnel to ensure continuous control over materials and products.

Your Day to Day:

• Implement the standards contained in the Westinghouse "Global Ethics Code". Insure that alI employees reporting to this position are informed about the standards related policies, and enforce them within this supervised activity.
• Manage the Columbia Plant Analytical Services Laboratories and Mechanical Inspections Areas which have responsibility for providing acceptance for incoming materials, process control, and product specification.
• Lead process related continuous improvement activities for enhancing the organization’s Quality Control capabilities.
• Provide coaching to and development of department personnel and promote teamwork.
• Focuses on Team Manager professional development and Quality Control and Laboratory group cross training to build organizational depth and flexibility along with developing depth and breadth.
• Develops short and long term individual and organizational goals to support plant and WEC initiatives.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering, Operations Engineering and Manufacturing leaders to identify potential areas of process variability

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor of Science Degree with either a technical or Business focus or combination of education and experience to meet equivalency requirements. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
• 5 years management experience.  10+ years of experience in manufacturing preferred. 

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership skills to lead individuals and work teams effectively.
• Technical understanding of products and materials to ensure credibility with customer base and to assist in problem resolution.
• Communicate effectively with technical staff to keep them informed of organizational improvements and/or changes
• Ability to gain consensus on product quality and employee issues.
