The Principal/Advanced Project Manager will be providing planning, oversight and technical expertise for work performed on government contracts at Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility.

 

This role will be based as in office role at our Columbia, SC office.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Provide Project Management on moderate complexity projects..
  • Support proposal process for moderate complexity projects.
  • Provide long term planning and procurements of parts needed to perform shop work. Work closely with vendors, engineering, and supplier quality. .
  • Complete all aspects of initiating and planning processes including authoring charters and project management plans which include developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines as well as, risk and stakeholder registers
  • Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status. Develop or oversee project records in standard databases, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally
  • Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process
  • Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons learned, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Use interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other stakeholders (e.g., internal management) to facilitate successful project completion as well as identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Work effectively as part of a cross-functional team including quality engineering, supply chain management, project management, and customers.
  • Manage customer inventory
  • Support management with planning and forecasting
  • Support the planning and implementation of current and future capital investment projects
  • Work closely with customer to assist program in future planning.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing team to ensure smooth execution of fabrication campaigns
  • Position requires light travel <10%

 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors Degree
    • Applicable disciplines include: Project Management, Engineering, Business, Manufacturing or related technical field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as project manager leading and directing low to moderate complexity projects to successful completion.
    • Preferred advanced degree or PMP certification
  • Requires exceptional communication skills. Ability to work directly with customer. Ability to read and understand contractual requirements. Knowledge of FAR clauses a plus. 
  • This position requires US Citizenship and either current access authorization (clearance) at the Q level, or the ability to obtain and maintain such clearance.  Clearance must be maintained without interruption in order to meet position requirements.
