Your Day to Day
The Product Manager (PdM), through use of competitive and market intelligence for assigned product areas, interfacing with and leading across the broader organization, and engagement with external customers, creates and drives product strategies and customer capture plans that enable securing Fuel orders. Achieves financial performance by shaping product and marketing strategies to ensure maximum profitability and growth through driving development of quality products and services to achieve goals.
The Product Manager is responsible and accountable for product planning and project execution scope throughout the product lifecycle, and to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Responsible for the Profit & Loss (OE Growth, Margin as Sold %, Innovation IRR, etc.) for assigned product areas. The PdM must also ensure that the product strategy supports Westinghouse’s overall strategy and goals.
- Orchestrate and drive profitable product or service growth. Actual orders entered should be greater than or equal to financial plan orders entered. Margin-as-sold for actual aggregate orders entered should be greater than or equal to financial plan margin-as-sold.
- In collaboration with Operations manager, ensure margin-as-delivered is met in alignment with monthly business plan.
- Develop & Drive product roadmaps to ensure profitable product or service growth: set targets for GTO/GOS, oversee technology roadmaps to ensure alignment with product strategies, chair product development and implementation gate reviews, ensure time to market.
- Define, drive and monitor product life cycle and lead product evolution from concept to retirement to maximize value with tie to technology roadmaps and other product strategies.
- Develop and drive a strategic focus, communicate the vision for the future and promote a culture that aligns with organizational goals.
- Monitor segment-specific market trends, customer buying patterns and competitor moves to feed product marketing plan and support capture teams.
- Assess and analyze the market for target offerings to identify unmet customer needs.
- Lead identification and development of offer strategies for fuel hardware and engineering service product offers.
- Define and, once validated, implement business cases aligned to Product Strategy to grow WEC market share in the specific segment. Close the loop on Business Cases (track actuals).
- Collaborate across the organizations to align and drive the product strategies and priorities.
- Collaborate with appropriate colleagues within the Regional Account Teams (i.e. Customer Account Managers, Commercial Integration, etc.) and the external customer to drive business opportunities and decisions.
- Attend Capture Strategy Meetings in BU for Key Opportunities.
- Develop resources and lead people development activities. Prepare and successfully implement training and development plans with emphasis on long-term resource needs. Focus on developing staff to ensure “bench strength”.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you’d bring the following to the team:
- B.S. degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration and/or advanced technical degree is preferred,
- 7+ years of experience in product management, business or operations with increasing progression, complexity and levels
