The Senior Project Manager, High Energy Fuel is responsible for all project management processes on low complexity projects, or on a portion (i.e. work package) of a medium complexity project and requires leading small teams (average <10 team members) which may include project controls. As experience and capability increase, the Senior Project Manager may be assigned to several low complexity projects or medium work packages simultaneously. and serve as a Technical Inputs Lead for the low complexity projects as assigned. The Senior Project Manager will join a team of highly motivated Project Resources on our Digital & Innovation PMO.

 

The Senior Project Manager, High Energy Fuel may be assigned overall project manager responsibility of a medium complexity project in a deputy capacity (with direct guidance of a Principal Project Manager, Program Manager, or higher). An example project disciplines include Engineering, Field Services, Software, Nuclear Fuels Innovation/Product Development, and Process Improvement. All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.  This is a US ONLY Mobile or REMOTE role, with a preference for a candidate within reasonable driving distance to Pittsburgh, PA or Columbia, SC.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
  • Based on project plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members as needed to complete the work. Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders.   Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process. Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status. Maintain project databases, systems and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members.
  • Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other stakeholders (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion as well as identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities which will add value.

 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
  •  4 years project management experience or 2 years project management experience and 2 years experience in technical role in nuclear or construction industry. 
  • Experience in Nuclear Fuels manufacturing is highly desired
  • Familiar with the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing or Business
  • 4+ years of experience as project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, nuclear fuels, manufacturing, or construction
