About the role:

As a summer intern, you will support the development and updates to the Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) and associated licensing documentation for the new LEU+ Fuel Facility currently under construction.

 

You will report to the LEU+ Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Manager and be located at our Hopkins, SC facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update the ISA and supporting documentation, such as Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), consequence analyses, and fault tree accident analyses, in accordance with license requirements and records requirements.
  • Participate in process hazards analysis and risk assessments of special nuclear material processes/ systems, recommending safety & regulatory compliance improvements.
  • Draft responses to regulatory authority inquiries.
  • Perform frequency and consequence calculations for chemical and radiological hazards.
  • Provide ISA input to plant modifications and procedure revisions.
  • Perform reportability evaluations for ISA control failures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering are preferred).
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles
  • Strong technical interest, predisposition for multi-tasking, understanding of project priorities and ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Establish and implement personal goal and action plans
  • Work with global team through various communication methods

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
