Senior Supplier Performance Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

 

General:

 

  • Personal, industrial, and nuclear safety as a fundamental part of their job
  • Driving on-time delivery performance for assigned suppliers
  • De-risking new suppliers though technical assessments and development
  • Supporting resolution of supplier issues and negative performance trends
  • Identifying, proposing, and implementing performance improvements

 

Specifics:

 

  • Developing strong relationships with suppliers to drive on-time delivery of fuel components to our Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility located in Columbia, South Carolina. 
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders and customers regarding supplier performance, significant issues, and recovery plans
  • Performing on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved
  • Performing technical assessments of new suppliers for manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, compliance with applicable regulations, codes & standards, and associated risks
  • Leading supplier development and qualification activities for new products and cost reduction efforts. This includes identification of project risks and mitigating actions, managing project schedules, approval of supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, input to design for manufacturability, etc.
  • Owning internal and supplier corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of preventative and corrective actions
  • Supporting and escalating significant “quality events”, coordinating activities, issuing timely communications, identifying stakeholders, etc. to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition, & corrective action
  • Work with Design Engineering to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to support suppliers.

 

Who You Are: 
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: 

 

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly of components, etc.
  • Experience supporting multiple, concurrent cross functional projects
  • Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Power Point
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Experience with nuclear products and standards is a plus
  • Project Management experience is a plus
  • Travel requirements are 25-50%
