About the role:

As a Systems Engineer Tech 3 you will perform role as a Mechanical Integrity Inspector at Columbia Fuels Facility.

You will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering and be located at Columbia, SC and will support this position 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect Pressure Vessels per ASME VIII and API 510

  • Inspect Process Piping per B31.3 and API 570

  • Inspect ATM Storage Tanks per API 650 and API 653

  • Inspect other equipment

  • Issue Inspection Reports in Enovia

  • Create or revise inspection procedures

  • Create Mechanical Integrity (MI) drawings

  • Create and revise Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

  • Support Plant’s Welder Qualification per ASME IX

  • Create Weld Repair Travelers

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Five (5) years’ experience in an occupational function that has a direct relationship to welded assemblies fabricated to national or international standards and be directly involved in at least three of the following:

  • Experience developing procedures, inspection requirements, acceptance criteria, and specifications for weldments.

  • Experience in planning, control, and application of base metals and filler metals in the preparation and completion of production weldments

  • Experience as a welder, welding operator, or tack welder in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction

  • Experience in the detection and measurement of weld discontinuities by application of visual or other nondestructive evaluation processes to a written procedure.

  • Experience in planning, control, and application of repair welding

  • Experience preparing written procedures for welding, nondestructive evaluation of weldments, or destructive tests of weldments

  • Experience qualifying welders or welding procedures to multiple codes, standards and specifications

  • Experience applying welding related codes, standards, or specifications

  • Experience in operational techniques and activities used to fulfill quality control requirements for weldments.

  • Experience in teaching the occupational skill of welding or subjects related to welding; its application, control, materials, and processes.

  • Preferred that you have completed Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) qualifications. If not, you will be asked to be able to obtain qualifications within 9 months of hire date

  • You are capable of obtaining the following qualifications: Respirator, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Portable Man Lift Operator

  • Can enter properly sized tanks and other equipment for purpose of internal inspections
