Team Manager
Implement standards contained in Westinghouse "Codes of Business Ethics & Conduct." Ensure that all employees reporting to this
position are informed about the standards and related policies, and enforce them within this supervised activity.
*1. Plan, organize, communicate and monitor department resources to achieve effective utilization of employees,
equipment, and material consistent with safety, regulatory, quality, productivity and financial requirements through
the use of Westinghouse Manufacturing Systems & Tools.
*2. Foster a safety and quality conscious environment through the use and reinforcement of Human Performance.
*3. Assure personnel compliance to safety, regulatory, and quality requirements. Monitor personnel and area to observe
unfavorable trends through utilization of Visual Management and observations. Communicate discrepancies and solicit
support as needed.
*4. Determine task performance/skill requirements. Evaluate employee skill levels through utilization of the training skills
matrixes, focus training plans on deficiencies, and reinforce employee development and training.
*5. Working with a mentor, create area metrics and reports concerning activities of assigned department and display
metrics on Visual Management Center.
*6. Through standardized huddle meetings, area learning clocks and visual management communicate and reinforce
goals and the performance of the area including any changes to policies, etc.
*7. Maintain established employee relations policies and safety/health regulations.
*8 Conduct performance evaluations and recommend pay increases, promotions, transfers, and other personnel actions.
Interview job candidates and make hiring decisions to fill any open positions.
*9. Retain sufficient expertise to evaluate personnel and monitor area performance. Apply analytical skills to
production or equipment issues to initiate proper corrective action.
10. As a protégé participate and lead a special improvement project.
11. Identify and implement process/continuous improvements in assigned department.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
I. KNOWLEDGE
1. Plan, organize, communicate and monitor department resources to achieve effective utilization of employees,

2. Assure personnel compliance to safety, regulatory, and quality requirements. Monitor personnel and area to observe
unfavorable trends. Alert support personnel to discrepancies and solicit support as needed.
3. Determine task performance/skill requirements. Evaluate employee skill levels, focus training plans on deficiencies,
and reinforce employee development and training.
4. Create area metrics and reports concerning activities of assigned departments.
5. Keep employees informed of area, business, and policy changes. Communicate goals and current level of group and
individual performance.
6. Maintain established employee relations policies and safety/health regulations.
7. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend pay increases, promotions, transfers, and other personnel actions.
Interview job candidates and make hiring recommendations.
8. Retain sufficient expertise to evaluate personnel and monitor area performance. Apply analytical skills to production or equipment issues to initiate proper corrective action.
9. Participate in or lead special project assignments and perform designated roles (i.e. Incident Commander).
10. Identify and implement process improvements in assigned department.
11. Be on site, on call or have backup in place to oversee any issues on 1,2, and 3rd shifts as well as weekend shift
12. Work with Tooling, Process and Manufacturing engineers to ensure prints are up to date and parts reflect the latest revisions.
13. Work with Global Supply to ensure parts manufactured by outside Vendors meet approved Westinghouse prints and are delivered on time.
14. Provide answers to technical questions or provide Engineering contact for outside vendors as needed concerning Westinghouse drawings.
15. Work with Store Room to ensure Max/Min levels are kept at appropriate levels.
6. Oversee production of CE Upper and Lower Ends.
17. Assure TP BAR has Tool maker available when needed for production.
18. Oversee Cutting all Chrome plated Rods to length to support production.
19. Work with Production areas to help reduce CPOQ.
20. Ensure Tool Makers are trained to efficiently and safely operate all machine tools in the Tool room.
21. Ensure Tool makers are trained to efficiently use CNC programming packages
22.Responsible for inventory control of consumables and tools
23. Responsible for quality control on all outgoing tool deliveries
24.Enters data into tool tracking software as necessary
25. Work with Store Room to ensure proper lead times
26. Orders tools and consumable material as needed
27. Performs four (4) safety observations monthly
28. Manage hazardous material program to include coordinating use of proper protective equipment distinguished by use of material safety data sheets, as well as identification, proper use and disposal of hazardous material.
29. Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Two years Technical School in Machine Tool Technology.
- One to four years of experience in a Manufacturing/Production
- environment.
- Successful completion of the Leadership development program as required by location. (i.e. Columbia – Leadershap
