About the role:

Westinghouse is recruiting for Senior Health Physics Technicians to work at the VC Summer Nuclear Power Station, located in Jenkinsville, SC. Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activates. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned determined by individual certifications, qualifications, and skills.

 

You will report to the Westinghouse site manager and be located onsite at the VC Summer Nuclear Power Station.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activates. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned determined by individual certifications, qualifications, and skills. Types of tasks RP Technicians may perform include the following:

 

 

radiation and contamination surveys

material and equipment surveys

release of personnel and material

material escort

ALARA planning

Help with decontamination activities

Support Site Emergency Plan

Qualifications:

Senior Health Physics Technician 3.1A or above. (3.1A requires 2,000 hours of commercial nuclear power combined with a systematic approach to training).

Knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and industry standards.

Knowledge of radiation detection and measurement equipment, including calibration and quality control.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience and qualifications, is estimated to be $34 to $40 per hour.  Early sign-up bonus of $ 2,000 for Senior Health Physics Technicians confirmed before November 26th, 2025. There is a $4,000 completion bonus for Senior Health Physics Technicians who complete the outage
