Field Service Technician

About the role:

As a Field Service Technician, you will provide field services at nuclear power plant sites. These sites may be either operating or under construction. The service center will involve you in its operations. You will use high technology service equipment to perform these tasks. Furthermore, you will conduct yourself in a manner reflecting Westinghouse's commitment to safety and quality.

You will report to the Product Manager and be located in Krsko, Slovenia.

Model of work: hybrid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform outage and outage related activities for the training, preparation, execution, and closeout of outage projects.
• Perform non-outage related activities such as customer or Westinghouse equipment refurbishment or repair, component upgrades, or troubleshooting at both customer and Westinghouse sites
• Perform all assigned tasks with support, with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Maintain a and document all quality related issues.
• Develop and exercise team‐building skills with peers, supervisors, contactors, customers, and other Westinghouse departments.
• Demonstrate good customer sensitivity.
• This position requires extensive travel, maintenance of “Unescorted Access” status, maintain adherence to the “fitness for duty” program, and working with hazardous materials.
• Travel, access power plants, and work with customers autonomously.
• Oversee assigned projects and small teams with predetermined goals.

Training

• Participate in performance‐based training programs to acquire and qualifications and certifications and keep current with technology.
• Participate in formal training to expand knowledge areas, skills, and expertise.
• Participate in on-the-job training in the field.
• Participate in safety trainings.
• Learn, understand, and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements.
• Participation and contribution of safety observations.
• Acquire, comprehend, and apply Nuclear Culture Safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, post high school degree/certificate or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of Nuclear experience
• General knowledge of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, and outage operations
• Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical curriculum, and knowledge of mathematics.
• Practitioner in a predetermined qualification or certification program.
