As an Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability Specialist you will provide support for the Corporate EHS Group. The focus of this role will be in supporting the environmental sustainability program at WEC but will also include support for other functions of the EHS group, including responsibilities associated with our Poland and AP1000 new build projects. This position is responsible for consolidating and analyzing data, and reporting EHS&S metrics. Additionally, this role will help coordinate the creation and maintenance of EHS&S dashboards and new EHS software. Focus will be supporting the EHS&S team in maintaining, collecting, and analyzing EHS&S data as well as coordinating reports, metrics, and other outputs from the collected data.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements and support environmental sustainability policies, programs and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Additional activities to support health and safety programs may be included for this position.
- Work with peer leaders regarding their ownership for daily operations related to EH&S excellence
- Perform internal and suppliers EHS Audits
- Ensure that regulatory and customer requirements for recording are met (for assigned facilities)
- Promote teamwork through open communication and maintaining collaborative relationships
- Implementing the organization’s short- and long-term environmental sustainability strategies
- Researching regulatory compliance requirements that impact company operations (focus including but not limited to REACH, RoHS, CBAM, CSRD, CSRDDD, etc.)
- Monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing the data collection efforts related to environmental sustainability
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to Environmental Sustainability or Environmental, Health, & Safety.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with Sustainability or EHS discipline preferred. Experience with data collection and analysis is preferred.
- Excellent English communication skill both written and spoken.
- Experience with European sustainability regulations (REACH, RoHS, CBAM, CSRD, etc.) preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety, and sustainability laws and regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies.
- Excellent analytical, project management, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, and can make effective presentations of local results and/or analytical findings.
- Experience with industry-related software preferred.
- Excellent computer skills.
