Fuel Engineering Technologies is looking for a graduate engineer to join the Reactor Technologies & Methods team to provide technical leadership in design, development, training, performance, and delivery of complex products and services for nuclear plant operation.
In this position, a successful candidate can expect to work as part of a team including but not limited to:
- Perform nuclear core design reload calculations by using the internal and external nuclear core design simulation coeds, following internal methodology and design manuals, and consulting with experienced peer and mentor engineers.
- Support licensing activities and implementation of advanced methods to enable growth of Nuclear Fuel business on critical initiatives such as high energy fuel, VVER market expansion, radioisotope production in LWRs, and next generation reactor technology (AP1000, AP300, etc.)
- Improve existing analysis methods and enhance computational performance, identify uncertainties in nuclear methods and develop validation approaches to address them.
- Perform engineering design and analysis and propose solutions to complex problems.
- Identify, define, and direct approach for successful resolution of significant technical nuclear design issues.
- Participating in training to obtain qualifications in the Core Engineering and/Software Design functional areas.
- Supporting AP1000 Core Engineering Design codes, procedure and methods development and updates.
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Nuclear, Mechanical, Computer etc.) or related Discipline (e.g. Materials, etc.) preferred or recognized equivalent required
- 0-3 years of experience in one or more of the following disciplines
- Nuclear Engineering/Physics
- Mechanical/Materials Engineering
- Software/Computer Engineering
- Experience with modern programming languages such as C/C++, Fortran 95/2003, Java, Python, or C#/.NET
- Working understanding of data modeling approaches
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Strong interpersonal skills, experience working effectively in an international team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Nuclear Core Engineering/Modeling experience
- Experience with advanced Mechanical or Neutronics modeling tools (ANC, VIPRE, CFD, etc)
- Working understanding of data modeling approaches
- Advanced modeling skills
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 7,333 to 9,133 PLN gross per month. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
