The IT Asset Management Analyst assists management with the coordination, development, and execution of configuration database management (CMDB) functions related to general IT asset management and compliance. 
The individual will provide support for the asset management team for IT systems, software, hardware, related processes, and internal projects in addition to their primary focus on CMDB data accuracy and completeness. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Help reduce the number of duplicate entries to a minimum 
  • Update missing required attributes 
  • Review stale entries and identify retired devices or any discovery opportunities 
  • Review configuration item changes on a daily basis
  • Improve information from various teams as needed for each asset class
  • Identify gaps in configuration items and assist the support teams fix the gaps 
  • Ensure retired devices are reflected as such in the inventory
  • Work on tickets assigned to Asset Management 
  • Participate in change meetings and ensure CMDB data is updated for moves, decommissions, upgrades, and other changes in general to hardware
  • Add and/or modify Discovery schedules and schedule maintenance change requests 
  • Manage contracts in ServiceNow
  • Assist with creating hardware assets or submit requests for bulk upload / update
  • Other duties as assigned by management 


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of IT support experience required. 
  • No certifications required.
  • Proficient in understanding the basics of hardware asset management and the CMDB
  • Must be capable of managing varied assignments and working independently and in a group.
  • Attention to detail highly desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
