Are you interested in being part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions? At Westinghouse, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.

The GNFE Poland Operations Lead provides local coordination, visibility, and escalation support for Global Nuclear Fuel Engineering (GNFE) employees based in Poland. This role enables workforce, operational effectiveness, business planning, and regulatory compliance while supporting a geographically distributed reporting-manager model. This position does not replace formal reporting-manager accountability. Instead, it complements global reporting relationships by ensuring strong local execution, engagement, fiscal discipline, adherence to local labor and regulatory requirements, and alignment with GNFE expectations.

The candidate will serve as the primary GNFE local coordinator for the Poland hub, support GNFE employees reporting to managers outside of Poland, own development of the local business plan, manage the local budget, and act as GNFE's local interface to site, functional, and corporate partners. The candidate will also ensure smooth operations and compliance of GNFE activities in Poland, providing team feedback, ensuring compliance with labor laws and export control requirements, and fostering a positive work environment.

The candidate will also drive the development and execution of the GNFE transformation portfolio. The candidate will work closely with Nuclear Fuel leadership and management teams to identify and lead projects that add transformation value across the business. The candidate should expect limited travel to GNFE offices in the US and Sweden.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate local onboarding and internship programs including workspace/systems access, training alignment, intern-to-FTE transitions, mentoring connections, and early project success.

  • Support hub growth and talent pipeline development by partnering with universities, recruiters, and Global Mobility to deliver hiring and international assignments aligned to GNFE workforce plans.

  • Provide input to reporting managers and GNFE leadership on observed skill gaps, training needs, and competency demonstration across the Poland hub.

  • Develop and maintain the GNFE Poland business plan with GNFE departments and manage the local budget (forecasting, spend tracking, cost control), escalating risks or variances as needed.

  • Maintain visibility of employee capacity, utilization, and role mix; identify and escalate resource constraints, underutilization, or staffing risks to reporting managers and GNFE leadership.

  • Serve as the primary local point of contact for GNFE leadership visits, workshops, audits, and assessments; coordinate logistics with Facilities, IT, Security, HR, and site leadership (meetings, space needs, access).

  • Establish and maintain a local operating rhythm (regular check-ins, structured feedback loops); cascade and contextualize GNFE messages, changes, and priorities; and provide periodic updates on people status, engagement, risks, and local operating considerations.

  • Ensure GNFE activities in Poland comply with in-country labor law and export control requirements by coordinating with HR and Trade Compliance; surface and route concerns to appropriate owners (reporting managers, HR, Trade Compliance, GNFE leadership); and support related audits/reviews.

  • Become a subject matter expert in GNFE transformation portfolio management, provide system governance, and ensure a robust pipeline to achieve savings targets and growth objectives.

  • Lead planning and execution of key initiatives and support business case development. Develop presentations to report transformation strategy, targets, and progress to executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering, project management, business analytics, admin, or similar. Experience in the Nuclear Industry is preferred.

  • High-level proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong Polish and English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to build and leverage strong relationships across Westinghouse and GNFE.

  • Willingness to support short-term, GNFE-specific technical or project assignments.

  • Experience coordinating with management and technical teams in the execution and implementation of initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across cultures and geographies.

  • Working knowledge of professional office tools and collaboration platforms.

  • Familiarity with Polish labor law or experience coordinating with local HR.

  • Experience supporting professionals or internship programs.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 9,250 to 11,600 PLN gross per month.

In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
