Operations Supervisor - Platform

Reporting to the Platform Services Manager, this supervisor‑level role oversees the operational performance and reliability of the enterprise Windows and Linux server platforms, as well as storage, backup, and virtualization services.
Working within a Plan–Build–Run model, you will lead day‑to‑day Run operations and collaborates with the Build team to ensure smooth handoff of new solutions into production. The supervisor provides operational input during design and implementation, ensuring stability and supportability of new services. The Platform Operations Supervisor ensures all operational services follow the defined best practice ITIL framework and within the defined service level agreements.
Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Oversight

Manage a team of Infrastructure Operations Engineers (junior through senior level).

Assign and prioritize daily tasks, incidents, problem and change requests.

Promote accountability by setting clear goals, and measurable performance outcomes.

Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
Operational Excellence
-
Ensure adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).

Monitor ticket queues and ensure resolution per SLA.
-
Validate that you complete patching, backup, and maintenance activities accurately.

Oversee health checks for virtualization platforms, server operating systems, application delivery environments, and identity and access management systems.

Ensure compliance with security baselines and audit requirements.

Validate backup success rates and DR readiness.

Produce weekly/monthly operational reports (incidents, SLA compliance, capacity trends).

Track KPIs for uptime, patch compliance, and backup success.

Define proactive monitoring strategies to cover operational gaps.

Identify gaps in operational workflows and propose automation or process enhancements.

Partner with the Service Delivery team to validate permanent fixes and reduce operational risk.
Escalation Management
-
Be a primary escalation point for high priority incidents before engaging the build teams.

Lead response efforts during high‑severity or business‑impacting incidents, ensuring rapid triage
-
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (network, security, applications, Build teams) during complex or multi‑platform incidents.

Provide updates to leadership and partners throughout major incident response activities.

Drive post‑incident root cause analysis and document and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Review recurring incidents and systemic issues, escalating patterns for long‑term remediation.
Stakeholder Collaboration

Communicate status of critical incidents and planned changes to management and partners.

Collaborate with architecture and security teams for cross-platform projects.

Partner with the Build team to ensure smooth handoff of new solutions into production and readiness for ongoing operations.

Work with compliance, audit, and risk teams to support evidence collection, remediation tracking, and adherence to IT governance requirements

Participate in project planning and review sessions to represent Run‑operations requirements, risks, and supportability considerations.

Coordinate with network, database, application, and service desk teams to resolve cross‑functional issues and align operational activities.

Qualifications:
-
BS or similar applicable degree or equivalent experience
-
7 years of IT experience with at least 4 years in server infrastructure
-
Experience in leadership of within a diverse team of direct reports.
-
Experience in inspiring teams, building alignment across stakeholders, and driving improvements that enhance operational performance.

Understanding of business functions.
-
Strong ability to communicate across a wide audience of IT and business professionals, including technical discussion with IT professionals.
-
Demonstrated ability in process management and continuous improvement.
-
Strong sense of ownership and urgency in production operations environments.
-
Demonstrated abilities in decision making, project management, and out-of-the box thinking.
-
Confident and effective in establishing new capabilities and programs, including new solutions, technologies, and/or platforms.

An understanding of IT infrastructure principals, capabilities, and architecture.
-
Established experience with IT compliance controls.
-
Leads through influence and initiative, sustaining progress under uncertainty and adapting swiftly to shifting priorities and organizational dynamics.

Experience across a variety of IT functions, including, but not limited to applications, infrastructure, and service delivery

ITIL Foundation and Agile Fundamentals

Microsoft or VMware certifications preferred (e.g., VCP, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator).
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 17,000 to 21,225 PLN gross per month. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
