The GSS Principal Project Controls Specialist is responsible for the ongoing development and optimization of project controls processes, focusing on systems. This role supports the Team Leader and Manager in establishing and reviewing service level agreements, leading major improvement programs, and driving standardization and optimization of processes. The specialist works closely with the management team to identify risks and opportunities and supports the Project Management Leadership Team with various initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update data in all project controls systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review and analyze data to ensure high levels of accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness.
- Provide input on data collection methods to optimize efficiency and data quality.
- Contribute to the design and development of standard SAP templates.
- Prioritize and deliver data entry tasks within deadlines.
- Identify and address data issues, driving data governance and process improvements.
- Prepare and deliver internal training sessions and create job aids.
- Lead ad hoc projects, meetings, and calls.
- Supervise and coordinate specialists, providing mentorship and developing subject matter experts.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with the EPMO group to address data issues and drive strategic solutions.
- Lead major projects and support the Project Management Leadership Council in process improvements.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on project controls processes.
- Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from the manager.
- Understand Order-To-Cash processes and streamline Project Controls processes within OTC
- Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
- Tackle complex and challenging problems
Qualifications:
- B.A., B.S. in Business or Finance
- 3-5 years of global experience
- Knowledge of Westinghouse and the industry
- Proven track record with respect to knowledge of financial processes, controls, and associated improvement programs
- A general understanding of Westinghouse systems and data quality needs
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities, manage time and multi-task
- Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness
- Detail oriented with a problem-solving mindset and ability to meet deadlines and be results oriented
- Desire to produce accurate, high-quality work with attention to details
- Proficient in SAP PS, MS Office, and other software packages a plus
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing project needs in evolving situations
